"Choirboys," the men's group, meets each Wednesday around 10:30 AM. We hold a Bible study each week. Be sure to stay for lunch after. We also come up with a variety of building projects throughout the year, from a tool shed for the garden to a sound desk. In addition, you can expect a men's breakfast, one Saturday per month, hosting a variety of guest speakers.
Women of Worship meets on Friday mornings between 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. We hold a Bible study each week and spend time praying and interceding for the church. So come along and gather with your friends for a cuppa and discussion.
Hendrik Scorgie leads the Family Group on Wednesday nights at 6:30PM. Come for a time of worship, prayer, and Bible study.
Chat N' Cino meets every Monday morning at 10:00 AM at the Cafe Savanna on the Oberon Main Street. Come have a cuppa and some toast with us before you start the week.
Cedar Leaders is a monthly meeting for the church leadership. Here they discuss keys and truths that they have discovered over the last month. This is a time for strengthening and building one another other up.
Cedar is an acronym: CALLED, ENDURING, DEDICATED, ANOINTED, REPRODUCING. Our vision is to see a church with leaders live out these principles and encourage others to step forward into leadership.
Remember, our Message is not about ourselves; we're proclaiming Jesus Christ, the Master. All we are is messengers, errand runners from Jesus for you. It started when God said, "Light up the darkness!" and our lives filled up with light as we saw and understood God in the face of Christ, all bright and beautiful.
Our church uses the Local Church Certificate IV in Ministry from Alphacrucis, formerly Southern Cross College, to enable anyone from our church to deepen their understanding of what they believe in a classroom environment. Regardless of your background or age group, this course brings the uniting bond of the Word and community with the body of Christ.
Eight subjects are covered, providing the students with a sound, practical grounding in the Word of God. These subjects include Introduction to the Old Testament, Introduction to the New Testament, Christian Discipleship, Christian Worldview, Christian Leadership, Evangelism, Fieldwork 1: Introduction to Church Ministries, and Fieldwork 2: Church Leadership. This course takes about a year of full time study or two years of part time study.
Bathurst Christian Life Centre provides our classroom environment for this course. So, not only will you get to meet with friends from Oberon, but also find new ones in Bathurst.
